A Journey Back to the Veranda of Memories

The Echoes of a Vanishing Landscape

From the Vision of Prakash Varma

In Kochattante Kolayi, my vision was to do more than just tell a story; I wanted to map the sensory landscape of a Kerala that is quietly slipping through our fingers. The teaser lyrics, penned by the soulful Sujesh Hari and set to the evocative music of Pradeep Varma, serve as a poignant "roll call" of everything we have left behind. It is a rhythmic lament for a world where the physical and the spiritual were once one.

The Anatomy of Loss

Through my lens, these verses represent a transition where nature and tradition are in retreat. Even the Vishukkaattu (summer breeze) can no longer coax the Kanikkonna to bloom, and the Ezhitthola (palm leaf manuscript) has been replaced by the cold uniformity of modernization.

The Legend of Kochattan: A Work in Progress

While the teaser song captures the void —the things that have vanished—the creative team is currently crafting the"Kochattan Song." This is the emotional heartbeat of my vision and a central piece of the "Idea Factory" process.

Pradeep Varma is currently composing the melodic identity for Kochattan—a sound designed to feel as rooted as the Ezhitthola but as fleeting as a memory. If the teaser is the "Lament," the Kochattan song is the "Soul."

Kochattan stands as the bridge between "then" and "now." He remains on his Kolayi (veranda), acting as a living guardian of these memories. He is the one calling out to the "severed moments" (Akannatta nerangal), inviting them back home.

"My goal with this project is to 're-wild' our collective memory. By bringing back words like Adathappu and Kurunthotti, we aren't just singing a song; we are breathing life back into our roots." — Prakash Varma

Behind the Scenes at Idea Factory

We are currently in the laboratory phase with the Kochattan Song. Between Sujesh Hari's evocative verses and Pradeep Varma's grounded compositions, we are searching for the right pulse—a rhythm that matches the stillness of the veranda.
Stay tuned as we bring Kochattan to life.

Vantara: A Beacon of Wildlife Conservation and Animal Rescue in Gujarat

In today’s rapidly urbanizing world, the need for wildlife conservation and animal rescue is more critical than ever. Vantara, a 3,500-acre wildlife sanctuary located in Jamnagar, Gujarat, stands as a testament to visionary conservation efforts by Reliance Industries and the Reliance Foundation. A Visionary Initiative Led by Anant Ambani The brilliant idea behind Vantara comes from Anant Ambani, a director at Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) and Reliance Foundation. His passion for animal welfare and conservation inspired the creation of a sanctuary where abused, injured, and endangered animals receive world-class care. Anant Ambani’s vision is to not only rescue animals but also create an ecosystem focused on long-term well-being, cutting-edge veterinary care, and robust conservation research. Saloorappoyka: When a Frog Becomes a Pond

At IdeaFactory, we love when ideas leap out of the ordinary—and Saloorappoyka is exactly that kind of leap. What began as a simple thought—“What if a pond could be a frog?”—turned into one of Satva Designs’ most playful and talked-about landscaping experiments. Saloorappoyka isn’t just a water feature; it’s a character. A large, friendly frog sculpted into the land, its wide mouth open in welcome, its tongue imagined as the water body itself. This project wasn’t about form alone. It was about feeling. How do you take something small, even slightly intimidating—like a frog—and scale it up without losing its charm? How do you make it lovable, interactive, and full of personality? That was the design challenge. And the result is a pond that smiles back. Visitors can sit on the edge of the frog’s mouth, dangle their feet into the cool, reflective water, and momentarily step into a world where nature and imagination blend seamlessly. Keep your legs inside the pond and you might even get a ...
